Richard A. Fankhauser, M.D.

Dr. Fankhauser has an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University
and obtained his Medical Degree from The Ohio State University College of
Medicine. He completed an Internship and an Orthopedic Residency training
program at Mount Carmel Medical Center. Dr. Fankhauser has practiced in
Columbus his entire career and has been associated with Columbus Bone, Joint &
Hand Surgeons, Inc. since 1997. Dr. Fankhauser is certified by the American
Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of
Orthopedic Surgeons; a member of the Columbus Orthopedic Society, the
Columbus Medical Association, the Ohio State Medical Association and the
American Orthopedic Association. Dr. Fankhauser is the Residency Training

Biography
Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Kumler is a graduate of the Ohio State
University College of Medicine. He did both his internship and residency at Mount
Carmel Medical Center and has been a member of Columbus Bone, Joint & Hand
Surgeons, Inc. since completing his residency in 1972. Dr. Kumler was Board
Certified in 1973. Dr. Kumler has served on various committees at Mount Carmel
Medical Center during his career and has recently been the CDC chairman and the
past President of the Medical Staff. He practices general Orthopedic three days per
week at both our East & West Locations. He is a member of the Columbus Medical
Association; Ohio State Medical Association; American Academy of Orthopedic
Society; American Orthopedic Society for sports Medicine and the Ohio Orthopedic
Society. Dr. Kumler currently serves on the Credentials Committee at Mount Carmel
Hospitals. Married for 44 years, he and his wife Martha have four children and 7
grandchildren. His son Bill is also an Orthopedic Surgeon and a member of
Columbus Bone, Joint & Hand Surgeons, Inc.
